Session of the Archaeology Committee Held
On 24 Safar 1447 AH, a regular session of the Archaeology Committee was convened under the chairmanship of Mr. Sayed Zabihullah Sadat, Director of Archaeology at the Ministry of Information and Culture, with the participation of esteemed committee members. The meeting focused on strategies for the protection, preservation, and management of Afghanistan's movable and immovable cultural heritage.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Sadat emphasized that archaeological monuments are invaluable cultural and historical treasures that reflect the identity and collective memory of the Afghan nation. He highlighted that safeguarding these assets is not only a national obligation but also a shared responsibility of both the proud people and the Government of Afghanistan.
The Director of Archaeology reiterated the importance of the decree issued by His Excellency Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him), which underscores the significance of preserving and protecting the country's historical and archaeological sites.
During the session, participants discussed the protection, management, and exhibition of artifacts discovered at various historical and archaeological sites across the country. Committee members exchanged ideas on innovative and effective measures to enhance the preservation and recognition of these treasures, aiming to protect Afghanistan's cultural and historical identity while creating favorable conditions for attracting both domestic and international tourists.
