In Herat, Ma'arif Road was renamed to Itifaq Islam Road.

Yesterday, the Information and Culture Department of Herat, in the presence of the cultural representative of the municipality, Ma'rif Road, which was also known as Maulana Talar Road, was renamed as Faqaz Islam.
Mawlavi Naeemul Haq Haqqani, Director of Information and Culture, said; "Itifaq Islam is a historical newspaper published from Herat, and changing the name of this road also means protecting its historical heritage."
He thanked the municipality at the time of putting up the sign of Itifaq Islam road and said; “Naming the roads with the names of cultural and historical heritage will keep future generations aware of their cultural and historical heritage.”
Itifaq Islam Road starts from Ma'arif Gate and extends to the Jail Road.
