Capacity-Building Seminar Conducted for Journalists and Media Professionals in Maidan Wardak.

 The Deputy Ministry for Publications Affairs and the Directorate of Information and Culture of Maidan Wardak Province held a one-day training seminar, “Intellectual, Ideological, and Professional Capacity Building.” Hundreds of journalists, media professionals, writers, literary figures, activist authors, and young people attended.
 The seminar was attended by Mr. Mohajer Farahi, Deputy Minister for Publications Affairs; Sheikh Noor-ul-Haq Anwar, Director General of the Administrative Office; directors from the Ministry of Information and Culture; the President of the Afghanistan Free Journalists Union; the Head of TOLOnews; and representatives from provincial government offices. 
The program opened with a welcome address from the Director of Information and Culture of Maidan Wardak, who emphasized the importance of media outlets, journalists, writers, activist authors, and young individuals remaining committed to truth and accuracy in their work. He noted that media organizations in Maidan Wardak are effectively fulfilling their responsibilities and have strong coordination with government institutions in the province. 
During the seminar, Mawlawi Mohajer Farahi highlighted the media's role in raising public awareness, promoting constructive thinking, fostering national unity, and responsibly reporting on social issues. He pointed out that the current security under the Islamic system presents a significant opportunity for media organizations to carry out their professional duties effectively. He also stressed the importance of educating the public about the consequences of past events and promoting awareness regarding Decree No. 17 of His Excellency Amir al-Mu'minin (May Allah Protect Him), as well as informing society about the detrimental effects of undesirable social practices.
Sheikh Noor-ul-Haq Anwar, Director General of the Administrative Office, reiterated the need for media professionals and journalists to uphold truthfulness, ensuring that information is conveyed to the public with honesty, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to accuracy.
 Mawlawi Safiullah Raed, Head of Mass Media Monitoring, mentioned that the responsibilities of journalists, writers, and authors extend beyond reporting news. He noted their duty to cultivate sound thinking, preserve societal values, defend the truth, and enhance public awareness. He encouraged activist authors to raise their voices against prejudice, ethnic discrimination, regional bias, and linguistic division, emphasizing that young people represent the nation's future and should dedicate their talents to education, research, innovation, and public service.
Mawlawi Abdul Haq Hammad, Advisor to the Deputy Ministry for Publications Affairs; Faridullah Mohammadi, Head of TOLOnews; various provincial officials; and Mohammad Shafiq Wardak, a lecturer at Kabul University, also addressed the seminar. They discussed the principles and foundations of journalism and the professional responsibilities of journalists. They emphasize the meaningful contributions media professionals can make to intellectual and cultural development through responsible journalism, highlighting the importance of sincerity, integrity, and a dedication to the public interest. 
The speakers underscored the notion that journalists should serve as advocates for truth, safeguard national interests, and contribute to strengthening the system. They reminded attendees that their words can reach thousands of people and endure for many years, which increases the importance of ensuring that their work leaves a positive and lasting impact. 
At the conclusion of the seminar, participants expressed their appreciation for the initiative. They called for similar programs in the future to further enhance the skills and develop the talents of journalists and young people.
