The Commission for the Reform of Billboards and Promotional Advertisements Conducted an Inspection in Kabul’s 10th District
In continuation of its field activities, the Commission for the Reform of Billboards and Promotional Advertisements, under the Deputy Ministry of Publications of the Ministry of Information and Culture, inspected billboards and promotional advertisements in the Shahr-e-Naw area of the 10th District of Kabul.
At the beginning of the program, Qari Wali Gul Jawad, Head of Cultural Affairs of Kabul Municipality, along with members of the Commission, spoke with media representatives and business sector officials regarding the importance of the area and the procedures for reforming and monitoring billboards and promotional advertisements.
Subsequently, the Commission’s procedures and standards were shared in detail with shopkeepers and business owners so that they may adjust their billboards and promotional materials in accordance with the established standards.
Additionally, the professional members of the Commission presented alternative terms in the country's national languages to replace non-standard wording used on billboards and promotional advertisements. They provided corrective recommendations to several shopkeepers and business owners.
The shopkeepers and business owners in the area praised the activities of the Commission, considering its efforts important for strengthening the national languages and preserving cultural values.
It is worth mentioning that during this inspection, more than 50 billboards and promotional advertisements were reviewed and corrected.
