Ministry of Information and Culture Hosts Coordination Meetings with Tourism and Pilgrimage Sector Stakeholders
The Ministry of Information and Culture, under the leadership of Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance, and Administrative Affairs, held a comprehensive coordination meeting with representatives from the Union of Tourism, Pilgrimage, and Umrah Companies. The meeting, held in the conference hall of the Tourism Deputy Ministry, focused on identifying solutions to the challenges faced by Afghan pilgrims and improving service delivery within the sector.
The primary goals of the session included streamlining the visa process, ensuring smooth and safe travel, facilitating the issuance and renewal of tourism licenses, and formulating a standardized operational framework for the industry.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister Jamal emphasized that the ministry is fully committed to supporting Afghan pilgrims by creating a more organized, accessible, and efficient travel experience. He underscored the importance of cooperation between government and private-sector stakeholders in addressing pressing issues.
Participants from various tourism, pilgrimage, and Umrah companies expressed their gratitude to the ministry for its ongoing collaboration. They also shared practical suggestions and voiced specific concerns related to visa delays, regulatory challenges, and logistical constraints. In response, Deputy Minister Jamal assured them of continued support and pledged to take all necessary measures to resolve the challenges facing the sector.
Later in the day, a second coordination session was held with officials from the Ministries of Interior, Justice, and Finance, along with representatives from key security agencies. During this session, the Union of Tourism, Pilgrimage, and Umrah Companies presented their concerns directly to relevant government entities.
In turn, the officials from these ministries and agencies reaffirmed their willingness to cooperate and committed to working closely with the tourism sector to ensure that all issues are addressed through joint planning, policy clarity, and administrative support.
