Maulana Jalaluddin Balkhi’s 813th Birth Anniversary Commemorated in Balkh

A ceremony was held in the country’s northern Balkh Province provincial capital Mazar-e-Shraif marking the 813th birth anniversary of Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi, Bakhtar News Agency reported the other day. Balkh Governor Mohammad Ishaq Rahguzar read out the message of President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani saying the poet and gnostic Maulana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi was one of the country’s scientific and spiritual reserves, the agency said.

At the threshold of the ceremony, an exhibition was also held displaying handicrafts, paintings and books, said the agency.
