On Sunday, February 16, 2025 (17 Shaa ban 1446 AH), the Directorate for the Preservation of Jihadi Values, under the Ministry of Information and Culture, held an official inauguration ceremony for its Museum, Archive, and Library at the Department of (samai aw baseri )Audio-Visual Affairs.

The event was attended by Alhaj Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa, Minister of Information and Culture; Muhajir Farahi, Deputy Minister for Publications; Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister of Art and Culture; Mawlawi Muhammad Younus Rashid, Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs; along with directors of central departments, journalists, and media representatives.

The ceremony commenced with a progress report presented by Mawlawi Zabihullah Noorani, head of the Directorate for the Preservation of Jihadi Values. He provided an overview of the directorate's achievements over the past three months and outlined its future plans. Noorani emphasized that Afghanistan has faced invasions from three major empires over the past century. Yet, in each instance, the resilience and sacrifices of the Afghan people led to the defeat of the aggressors. He stressed the importance of preserving jihadi artifacts, compiling the biographies of mujahideen, and documenting the history of jihad. To facilitate this mission, offices dedicated to the preservation of jihadi values have been established across various provinces. He called upon all mujahideen to contribute historical materials and collaborate in this effort.

Following this, Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa, Minister of Information and Culture, addressed the gathering, expressing his satisfaction at participating in this significant event. He reaffirmed that the Ministry of Information and Culture remains committed to preserving the sacrifices of martyrs, compiling their biographies, and documenting the history of Afghanistan's resistance over the past two decades, as well as its past struggles against British and Soviet invasions.

Minister Khairkhwa further emphasized that honoring the legacy of martyrs is a collective responsibility. He stressed that historical accounts must be recorded with accuracy, integrity, and honesty to ensure that the sacrifices of the martyrs are neither distorted nor forgotten. He also reaffirmed the Islamic Emirat's full commitment to supporting these efforts.

Muhajir Farahi, Deputy Minister of Publications, spoke about the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan 20 years ago, describing it as a period of military, economic, and ideological occupation. However, he noted that with divine support and the unwavering sacrifices of the Afghan people, the invaders were ultimately defeated. He highlighted the directorate's efforts to collect and safeguard historical records from Bagram, Pul-e-Charkhi, and other provincial prisons, as well as the biographies and sacrifices of martyrs, ensuring that future generations inherit this historical legacy. He urged mujahideen to submit their historical artifacts and records for preservation and called upon writers, scholars, and researchers to contribute to this initiative.

Similarly, Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister of Art and Culture, remarked that while mujahideen made tremendous sacrifices on the battlefield, it is now the responsibility of others to ensure their history and biographies are preserved for future generations.

Qari Muhammad Younus Rashid, Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs, emphasized that documenting the history and sacrifices of mujahideen is a religious and national duty. He stressed the importance of ensuring that the next generations and the global Muslim community understand the sacrifices made by Afghans, as well as the oppression and eventual defeat of foreign occupiers.
