Director of the Aga Khan Cultural Services Meets with the Minister of Information and Culture
On Tuesday, 20 Jumada al-Awwal 1447 AH (corresponding to November 2025), Engineer Ajmal Maiwandi, the Director of the Aga Khan Cultural Services, met with H.E. Sheikh Shir Ahmad Haqqani, the Minister of Information and Culture, at the Ministry's headquarters.
During the meeting, Engineer Maiwandi provided updates on the completion of the Mashin Khana Project, affirming that all technical and professional aspects were executed to high standards using modern equipment. He emphasized that the Aga Khan Cultural Services organization operates in a standardized and professional manner, ensuring that all activities adhere to the established quality benchmarks of the project.
Minister Sheikh Shir Ahmad Haqqani emphasized that the preservation and restoration of cultural and historical sites are among the Ministry's top priorities. He also mentioned the Ministry's goal of establishing a major national cultural market at Mashin Khana, which will feature permanent exhibitions of books, artworks, and handicrafts.
Additionally, the meeting included discussions about the transfer of historical artifacts from Afghanistan to Qatar for an upcoming joint museum exhibition of Islamic countries. This exhibition is expected to play a significant role in showcasing Afghanistan's rich cultural heritage and promoting a positive image of the country to the world.
