Youth Affairs Directorate Signs Cooperation Agreements with Private Educational Institutions

 On 15 Rabi’ al-Thani 1448 AH The Youth Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Information and Culture held a ceremony on Monday to recognize cooperating private universities and sign cooperation agreements with a number of private educational institutions.
The ceremony was organized by the Youth Affairs Directorate, which operates under the Ministry’s General Directorate for the Preservation of Jihadi Heritage.
Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance and Administrative Affairs Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal; Director of Youth Affairs Mawlawi Sayed Mohammad Dawood Agha; representatives of the Union of Private Universities; officials from universities and educational institutions; and media representatives attended the event.
In his remarks, Mawlawi Sayed Mohammad Dawood Agha welcomed the participants and underscored the importance of education. He expressed appreciation to private universities and educational institutions for their cooperation in providing educational opportunities and facilities for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
He called on private universities and educational institutions to develop programs aimed at fostering the intellectual development of young people, introducing them to the country’s history and academic figures, promoting authentic cultural values, and strengthening their academic capabilities. He said such initiatives would contribute to the intellectual development of young people and help them gain a proper understanding of Islamic and national values.
Deputy Minister Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal also highlighted the importance of the academic development of the younger generation. He emphasized the need for close coordination between relevant government institutions and private educational organizations, noting that private educational institutions, alongside government bodies, are making efforts to support the academic development of young people and contribute to the country’s development.
Mawlawi Jamal welcomed the organization of such initiatives and said that misguided and harmful ideas had been promoted in society in the past by those hostile to Islam and the country. He stressed that addressing such ideas is a shared responsibility and, on behalf of the Ministry of Information and Culture, assured the relevant institutions of the Ministry’s full cooperation in efforts to educate and develop the younger generation.
Meanwhile, Professor Waliur Rahman Azizi, Executive Director of the Union of Private Universities, and Mohammad Shakir Ebrahimi, representing private educational institutions, provided an overview of the current state of private higher and general education institutions in the country. They said that more than 100 universities and a large number of educational institutions are currently operating across Afghanistan, providing education to thousands of students.
They added that private universities and educational institutions are making sustained efforts to support the academic development of the younger generation in accordance with the policies of the Islamic Emirate and said that these efforts would continue.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, officials from private universities cooperating with the Youth Affairs Directorate were recognized. Cooperation agreements were also signed between the Youth Affairs Directorate and a number of private educational institutions to facilitate student identification and enable students to access educational opportunities at discounted rates.
