The traditional annual festival of Annab Gul was held in Farah

The Department of Information and Culture, in cooperation with the provincial authority, held the traditional annual Annab Gul festival in Farah. The event was attended by various notable figures, including the deputy minister for Publication Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Culture, Mawlavi Hayatullah Mohajer Farahi the Deputy Governor of Herat; Rahmatullah Ghorzang, head of the office of provisional authority; and the Head of Information and Culture, Muhammad Abdul Hai Sabawon. Local officials, poets, writers, philanthropists, and media representatives also participated.
Mawlavi Hayatullah Mohajer Farahi described poets, vocalists, and translators as the eyes of society. He emphasized their importance and stated that efforts are underway to create a special gathering place for Farahi poets in the near future. He noted that Farahi Anab, a type of fruit, is not only renowned nationally but has also gained international recognition.
Mohajer Farahi urged the residents of Farah to increase the production of Annab. He called on local officials to pay special attention to this fruit, hold exhibitions, and support the growers.
The Head of Information and Culture, Muhammad Abdul Hai Sabawon, announced that this year marks the 18th annual national and traditional Annab Gul festival. The festival was attended by hundreds of citizens, with participation from poets and vocalists from the provinces of Kabul, Kandahar, Herat, Helmand, and Badghis.
Sabawon emphasized the need to provide special support for Farahi poets, stating that efforts are being made to publish their poetry collections.
During the festival, attendees were presented with an allegorical piece titled "Drug Addicts Die." Hundreds of poets and vocal speakers recited works expressing love for the country, independence, the sacred struggle against invaders, and the Islamic system. The audience also listened to prepared poems and anthems that addressed themes of support, social reform, and unity.
