Coordination Meeting Held with Provincial Spokespersons and Media Officials of the Central Zone
On Wednesday, 23rd Jumada al-Thani 1446 the Directorate of Access to Information under the Ministry of Information and Culture’s Deputy Ministry for Publications organized a two-day coordination meeting in Kabul. The meeting was attended by provincial spokespersons and media officials from the central zone.
The session began with opening remarks by Mawlawi Rahmatullah Nariwal, Director of Access to Information, who highlighted the importance of regular coordination and presented Amir al-Mu’minin’s (may Allah protect him) decree and directives from the Prime Minister’s Office. He emphasized that coordination meetings with spokespersons and media officials will continue to be held every three months.
Sayed Hewad Hashimi, producer of political programs for National Television, delivered a detailed presentation on the significance of media, fostering productive relationships with media outlets, and ensuring access to accurate information.
Addressing the participants, Deputy Minister for Publications Mawlawi Muhajir Farahi underlined the need for stronger coordination among provincial government departments. He urged officials to build constructive relationships with media organizations and share timely and accurate information to counteract baseless propaganda from opposition groups. He emphasized the crucial role of media in today’s world.
Mr. Farahi reflected on the efforts of the Islamic Emirate’s Cultural Commission during the jihad era, noting their effective work despite limited resources and significant restrictions. Now, with greater resources and capabilities, he stressed the importance of using these opportunities responsibly. He reiterated that every nation aligns its engagement with media according to its national interests and assured that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan fully supports media outlets that uphold Islamic and national values.
During the first day’s proceedings, provincial spokespersons and media officials raised their concerns and questions. These were addressed comprehensively by both Mr Farahi and Mr. Nariwal.
It is worth noting that on the second day, media representatives from the central provinces will join the discussion alongside spokespersons and media officials from government departments.
