Afghanistan and Indonesia Strengthen Commitments to Islamic Art, Academic Research, and Library Development

Kabul, 21 Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH – Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister for Arts and Culture at Afghanistan’s Ministry of Information and Culture, met with Mr. Nanda Evalist, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, during an official visit to the National Public Library.
The meeting focused on deepening bilateral cooperation in Islamic art, academic research, and library development. Both parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to preserving and promoting the rich cultural and religious heritage of the Islamic world.
Deputy Minister Azizi expressed Afghanistan’s strong desire to expand cultural relations with Indonesia, emphasizing that the two nations—united by deep-rooted Islamic values—can build enduring foundations of mutual respect, collaboration, and understanding through cultural exchange.
Discussions also included practical measures for enhancing library infrastructure, promoting Islamic artistic traditions, and translating, publishing, and studying the works of prominent Indonesian scholars and jurists.
Mr. Nanda Evalist highlighted Indonesia’s commitment to supporting the growth and preservation of Afghanistan’s cultural heritage. He pledged continued cooperation in fostering artistic initiatives, advancing academic collaboration, and strengthening the library system across Afghanistan.
