On Tuesday, February 18, 2025 (19 Sha’ban 1446), the Commission for Naming Sacred Sites, Roads, and Intersections convened its regular session under the chairmanship of Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, the Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture at the Ministry of Information and Culture.

During the meeting, the commission reviewed a request from the Sar-e-Pul provincial administration to rename six major intersections. The following changes were approved: - Almas Intersection was renamed Farhang (Culture) Intersection. - Amor-e-Zanan (Women's Affairs) Intersection was renamed Istiqlal (Independence) Intersection. - Afridi Intersection was renamed Matboo’at (Press) Intersection. - Nazargah Intersection was renamed Wahdat (Unity) Intersection.

Furthermore, in Kunduz province, the commission considered a request from residents of Eidi Zada Township to rename it "Imam Bukhari Township." This decision was approved pending confirmation that there are no legal, ownership, or expropriation conflicts concerning the township’s official documentation.

Additionally, the commission reviewed petitions from residents of Kabul and Badakhshan provinces regarding similar naming requests.
