Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance, and Administration at the Ministry of Information and Culture, led an official delegation to Balkh Province. During this visit, he met with Haji Mullah Mohammad Yousuf Wafa, the Governor of Balkh, and Mawlawi Mohammadullah Zarar, the Director of Information and Culture for Balkh.

The meeting focused on media activities in Balkh Province, coordination between the provincial administration and the Directorate of Information and Culture, tourism development, and other key issues.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal explained the purpose of his visit. He stated that the delegation aimed to strengthen coordination between the provincial administration and the Directorate of Information and Culture, assess the department’s administrative functions, resources, and staff performance, and address existing challenges directly.

He emphasized, “With the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, the Ministry of Information and Culture has become a revenue-generating institution. Every province in Afghanistan has historical and cultural sites that attract both domestic and international tourists. Many foreign investors are interested in these sites, and the Islamic Emirate has introduced various facilities to support and expand tourism.”

Following this, Governor Haji Mullah Mohammad Yousuf Wafa welcomed the delegation and highlighted the importance of promoting Afghanistan’s cultural and traditional heritage across provinces. He stressed that raising public awareness through cultural programs and media is essential to inform the public about the achievements, progress, and positive developments under the Islamic Emirate.

Governor Wafa also pointed out the historical significance of Balkh Province, stating, “The rich history of Balkh must be preserved and documented. The province’s heritage should be compiled into books, as Afghanistan’s 5,000-year-old history is deeply rooted in Balkh.”

In conclusion, Governor Wafa assured the delegation of full cooperation from the provincial administration in all cultural and administrative matters.
