The Library Inspection Committee Collected a Number of Books in Baghlan Province

According to the officials of Department of Information and Culture of Baghlan Province, the Library Inspection Committee collected 29 volumes of books whose content was against Islamic values and Afghan culture during inspection from a number of public and private libraries.
Maulvi Izat Mir Haqqani, the head of the said committee and the Manager of Culture and Tourism of the Department of Information and Culture, said that in addition to public and private universities in Pul Khumri and districts, he also visited a number of private bookstores and collected 29 volumes of books from them that were sold and are forbidden to study.
Haqqani said; "Unfortunately, there are still some books in some libraries and bookstores that are in conflict with the Islamic faith and are against our national values and cause bad morals among the youth, for this purpose, this committee has been established to check several libraries and collect those books that have wrong content.”
He asked the book sellers to refrain from bringing to the country those books whose content is in conflict with Islam and Afghan culture.
It is worth noting that this committee was formed by the Department of Information and Culture in coordination with Baghlan Provincial Administration, and the Departments of Amr bal-Maruf and Nahi al-Monkar, Education, Intelligence and Hajj and Awqaf are members.
