Tourism is crucial in developing and strengthening relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan

On Saturday, the 13th of Safar, 1446 AH, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Finance, and Administrative Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Culture Maulvi Qudratullah Jamal held a significant meeting with Uzbekistan's Minister of Tourism, Omid Shadif, in Kabul.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister Mr Jamal emphasized the importance of their visit and hailed it as a pivotal opportunity to enhance and strengthen the ties between the two nations. He underlined the religious, historical, and cultural commonalities of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, stressing their significance for both countries.
Moreover, Deputy Minister Mr Jamal highlighted the potential for growth and development in the tourism industry between the two countries, citing Afghanistan's newfound stability after four decades of conflict. He also pointed out the promising prospects for domestic and foreign tourism, noting the recent visits of approximately 8 million domestic and 6158 foreign tourists to various parts of Afghanistan.
Following this, Minister Omid Shadif of Uzbekistan affirmed their country's commitment to comprehensive cooperation in the tourism sector, emphasizing the role of tourism in fostering collaboration and friendship. Additionally, he extended an invitation to the Ministry of Information and Culture to participate in an upcoming tourism meeting in Uzbekistan scheduled for November of this year, aiming to share expertise and strengthen ties in the field of tourism.
