The Commission for the Reform of Signboards and Advertising Inspections Conducted Oversight in Kabul’s Fourth District
As part of its ongoing field activities, the Commission for the Reform of Signboards and Advertising, operating under the Deputy Ministry of Publications of the Ministry of Information and Culture, conducted an inspection of signboards and advertising materials in Kabul’s Fourth District (from Haji Yaqub Intersection to the Emergency Hospital).
At the beginning of the program, the Head of Cultural Affairs of Kabul Municipality, Qari Wali Gul Jawad, along with members of the commission, spoke with media representatives and business sector officials about the importance of the area and the procedures for reforming and monitoring signboards and advertising materials.
Subsequently, shopkeepers and business owners received a detailed briefing on the commission’s procedures and standards, so they can regulate their signboards and advertisements following these criteria.
Additionally, the commission’s professional members presented alternative terms in the national languages to replace non-standard signboards and advertisements, offering corrective recommendations to several shopkeepers and business owners.
The shopkeepers and business owners in the area appreciated the commission’s activities and commended their efforts as vital for promoting national languages and protecting cultural values.
It is worth noting that during this inspection, more than 120 signboards and advertising materials were examined and corrected.
