Minister of Information and Culture Meets with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran
On Tuesday (2nd of Rabi al-Thani 1447 AH), the Minister of Information and Culture, Sheikh Shir Ahmad Haqqani, met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Reza Bikdeli, along with his accompanying delegation, in his office.
At the outset, Ambassador Bikdeli congratulated Minister Haqqani on his appointment and commended his selection based on merit. He expressed Iran’s willingness to strengthen bilateral relations further, pointing to the two nations’ deep historical, cultural, and religious ties, and described Afghanistan as a valued neighbor.
The Ambassador also praised the cultural, economic, and political cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran. He proposed expanding collaboration through joint cultural initiatives, exhibitions of handicrafts, and displays of historical manuscripts.
In his remarks, Minister Haqqani emphasized the vital role of culture in strengthening relations, describing it as a bridge that connects nations. He emphasized strong bilateral relations based on mutual respect and underlined the importance of addressing challenges through dialogue. The Minister also recalled the history of the two countries’ joint struggles against common adversaries, calling it an important and defining chapter in their shared history.
