Meeting Discusses Restoration of Herat’s 5th Minaret

Chaired by the Acting Minister of Information and Culture, Mohammad Tahir Zuhair, a meeting held to discuss the way to restore and maintain the 5th minaret in the country’s western Herat province, Bakhtar News Agency reported the other day.
The meeting attended by the UNESCO cultural in charges, head of historical monuments of the ministry of information and culture and other related experts, issues including consolidation of and repairing of the 5th Minaret was discussed and the participants shared their visions about the related issues, according to the agency.
The Acting Minister asked the international partners to help the country’s ministry of information and culture in prevention of unpleasant events relating to the said minaret, the agency added.
He also urged for coordination for starting practical works in the area through the historical monuments with the experts and thanked the institutions supporting the ministry in preservation of the minarets, the agency said.
