Director of Public Libraries Visits the National Library of Malaysia

On 10 Safar 1448 AH, Dr. Rafiullah Samim, Director of Public Libraries at the Ministry of Information and Culture of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, visited the National Library of Malaysia.
Officials at the National Library of Malaysia welcomed Dr. Samim and provided an overview of the library. They explained that it is the country’s main library and a leading center for reading and research. They also noted that the library preserves thousands of important books and journals in Islamic and modern sciences, helping protect Malaysia’s intellectual and cultural heritage.
Expressing appreciation for the warm reception, Dr. Rafiullah Samim thanked the President of the National Library and its staff for their hospitality. He noted that libraries play a vital role worldwide in expanding knowledge, preserving books in Islamic and modern sciences, and promoting a strong culture of reading. He added that visiting the National Library of Malaysia was a valuable and rewarding opportunity.
As part of the visit, Dr. Samim toured several sections of the National Library, including the General Collection Hall, Periodicals Hall, Reference Hall, Children’s Library, and other specialized departments. Officials responsible for each section briefed him on their collections, services, and activities.
