ECO Culture Ministers Express Their Support For Rehabilitation Of Ghazni City

With the initiation of Information and Culture Ministry, the fifth session of the Culture Ministers of ECO member nations was held in Kabul chaired by Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen Minister of Information and Culture of Afghanistan. The session was attended by the culture ministers of Tajikistan, Iran, and Pakistan, representative of Turkmenistan and heads of cultural and economic departments of ECO. Explaining about the role of ECO member nations and their linkage to Ghazni ancient city, Dr. Raheen said that the Ghazni city with its all archeological and historical riches is belong to the regional countries and in a manner is related to the all Islamic and humanitarian world. Hinting to the damages sustained Ghazni city during war years, Dr. Raheen stated that Ghazni needs all friends� attention. The head of Culture Department of ECO, Dr. Hujjatullah Ayubi regarding the one year activities of that organization said that the ECO book published in 5000 volumes that introduced the historical and archeological wards of ten ECO-member nations. Likewise, the collection of the poem of Rodaki, the great Dari poet is published in four languages under the title �Naseem-i-Bukhara�. Dr. Hussaini said a group of Iranian specialists would be sent to help rehabilitate historical city of Ghazni. Existence of communities and various linkages between the countries of the region causes that the joint cultural activities be expanded. Ministers of Culture and Guidance of Iran asserted. He said that the cultural institution of ECO through holding artistic exhibitions and festivals would endeavor to help the artists of member nations for their blossoming. The culture Minister of Tajikistan, Shahrukh Asrari proclaimed the support of ECO for rehabilitation of Ghazni city. He added that through culture and cultural cooperation�s, the spiritual relations should be linked again. Pakistan deputy culture minister Sheikh Mohammad Taher in this session evaluated Ghazni as the only historical city that presented the great personalities. He expressed his country�s support for rehabilitation of this city. In this session, the participants once again appointed Hujjatullah Ayubi for another period as the head of Cultural Institution of ECO Organization. The Cultural sessions of ECO organization held after two years hosting by member nations. In yesterday�s session of Kabul decision was made that the 6th session of cultural ministers of ECO member countries be el din Tajikistan. ECO is an economic organization that established in 1962 by Iran, Turkey and Pakistan.
