Meeting Held To Introduce Women Expert in Sharia and Law

Kabul (BNA) The first meeting of Specialist Women Group in Sharia and Law Affairs, chaired by Acting Minister of Information and Culture Hasina Safi, was held at the International Conference Hall of the Ministry, the yesterday, BNA reported.
Addressing the meeting, Acting Minister of Information and Culture Hasina Safi said that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution 1325 has been approved in accordance with the chapter 3 of the UN charter and is a principle of the international law, with the entire member countries of the United Nations Organization duty-bound to apply it, said the agency.
“As a member of the United Nations, Afghanistan is committed to abide by the UN charter, international conventions, particularly, the resolution 1325 on the women rights,” the minister added.
She said Afghanistan has taken practical step to observe and implement its own related international responsibilities in relation to the human right and women rights and would do its share on the protection of peace and security.” Therefore, it introduces a group of eight specialist women member from different entities to outline the situation, position of information and culture was responsible to hold awareness programs, which expected to be share with the people through the audio-visual media, theater, music and other publications.
Other speakers including Idriss Zaman, Deputy Political Minister of Foreign Affairs and director of plan and policy for MoIC also spoke on the related agenda, the agency said.
